Description
The Punta Observatorio light stands on the south side of the Ushuaia harbor and is readily viewed from the Ushuaia waterfront and from cruise ships entering Ushuaia harbor. The posted photos were taken from one of the upper decks of the Carnival Splendor while we were docked in Ushuaia.
The tower is a square pyramidal tower with red and white horizontal slats to allow the prevailing westerly winds to blow through the tower. The light's signature is a white flash every 2 sec.
