Description
LV107 was built in Bath, Maine and her first duty station was the Cape Lookout Shoals off the NC coast from 1924-1933. The lightships longest station was the Winter Quarter Shoals off the coast of VA (hence her name) from 1934-1942 and again from 1945-1960. She is now privately owned by the Liberty Landing Marina and has that designation on her port hull. The lightship is now a bar and grill and is open to patrons.
The photo shown was shot with a fisheye lens and has been perspective corrected in post processing to eliminate the distortion caused by the extreme wide angle to the ship masts.
