Description
An unusual hexagonal designed tower of concrete construction. All hand mixed on site. The foundations contain 300 cubic meters of concrete. The lens is a first order fresnel and was decommissioned in 1992. The light is now a quartz halogen solar powered globe on top od a steel lattice tower in front of the original. I have been to numerous lighthouses around Australia and this is the only one that has an unidentifiable aura of power and beauty. Shortly after it was commissioned a ship ran aground nearby with nearly all lives lost.
